How to become a member of the IPS?
The International Peat Society is open to all individuals and organisations dealing with peat and peatlands. Would you like to be one of our 1500 active members in 36 countries all over the world?
The IPS is bringing together mire scientists, peatland enthusiasts, universities and research centres as well as professionals of the peat industry, horticulture and energy under one roof, in a worldwide association. To foster information exchange, education and dialogue, we are regularly organising conferences, meetings and symposia on all matters related to peat and peatlands.
Our members receive our montly email newsletter Peat News, the half-yearly printed magazine Peatlands International and have full access to the scientific online journal Mires and Peat, our social media services and the publications database at our website. Local National Committees in 18 countries offer real networking opportunities close to you. IPS Members benefit also from significant discounts on registration fees at our events, and have full access to IPS publications in our online database.

Membership Application
Countries with National Committees
If you live in Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, the United Kingdom or the USA, please contact the Chair of your National Committee for membership conditions. Until their reply, you can buy online reading rights for our website (€ 50), which works like a 6 months temporary membership and terminates automatically.
Countries without a National Committee
If you are living in another country than the above mentioned, you are welcome to become an IPS member directly via the IPS Secretariat. For € 45 for individual, € 22 for student and € 265 for corporate members annually you will enjoy the full benefts of an IPS membership.
Please buy your membership electronically here or send the membership application below by fax or e-mail to the IPS Secretariat. The Executive Board will accept your application at its next meeting. The membership will continue automatically until further notice Membership invoices for following years are regularly sent in May/June after the Annual Assembly.
